Veteran Owned Barber Shop
Featured on Glenside Local
Frentu Fades, a barber shop located in the Keswick Village area of Glenside, officially debuted its doors at 251 N Keswick Avenue in October.
Henry Estilo, the proprietor, brings a unique background as a military veteran and a third-generation barber with roots tracing back to the Dominican Republic. Having settled in the region approximately six years ago, Estilo brings a wealth of experience, having honed his craft since the age of 16.
Reflecting on his journey, Estilo shared, “I served in the US Navy in 2006 as a military police officer, and I’ve been passionate about barbering ever since.”
Grateful for the warm reception from the community, Estilo aims to give back through initiatives such as hosting free Men’s Mindfulness Meetings within his shop every third Monday of the month. He credits a close friend who owns a mindfulness company for enabling this offering, emphasizing his commitment to community welfare.
In a further display of community involvement, Estilo proudly sponsored the "Best Exterior" award at the Keswick Car and Music Festival.
